All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Genaro Cruz Martinez Sr. Genaro Cruz Martinez Sr., 81, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today in The Embassy at New Life. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Embassy with Dr. Genaro Martinez Jr. of Ministerios Nueva Vida in Lubbock and Oscar Maldonado, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Martinez was born in San Diego, Texas, on Sept. 18, 1922. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Teresa Villanueva in Alice in 1947. He lived and worked the majority of his life in the Texas Panhandle. He was also a lay minister the majority of his life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by two sons and two grandsons. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Maria M. Stacy, Victoria Borunda and Gloria Sanchez, all of Amarillo, and Esther Lopez of Canyon; six sons, Reducindo Martinez of Hammon, Okla., Tito Martinez of Elk City, Okla., Genaro Martinez Jr. of Lubbock, Jose Angel Martinez of McAlester, Okla., and Tino Martinez and Abraham Martinez, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Jesusa Trevino of Agua Dulce, Elodia Flores of Spearman and Eva Gomez of Amarillo; four brothers, Ben Martinez of Agua Dulce, Pedro Martinez of Sheboygan, Wis., Eddie Garcia of Amarillo and Ruben Garcia of Lubbock; 28 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
