John Eddie Melvin

HIDEAWAY - John Eddie Melvin, 72, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel in
Lindale with Dr. Don Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lindale City
Cemetery.

Mr. Melvin was born Aug. 27, 1933, to Carl Edward Melvin and Virgie Music
Melvin in Foss, Okla. He was superintendent of River Road School District from
1964 until 1976 and was business manager of Amarillo ISD from 1976 to 1987.

Survivors include his wife, FanChon Melvin; a son, John Mark Melvin of Lufkin;
his stepmother, Edith Melvin of Elk City, Okla.; a sister, Carlene Akridge of
Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.
