Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the 16th and Pile Church of Christ with Eli Borden officiating. Burial will at 6 p.m. in Fairlawn Cemetery of Elk City, Okla., by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Newman was born in Elk City. She moved to Portales in 1955 and to Clovis in 1961. From 1995 to 1997 she owned Marlene's Antiques & Gifts. She sang at funerals and weddings for more than 20 years. Mrs. Newman was a member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School for girls in the seventh through ninth grades for 25 years. She was a Pink Lady at Clovis High Plains Hospital for three years. She married Bob Newman in 1954 at Elk City. Survivors include her husband; a son, Monty Newman of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Mickey Elrod of Ovilla, Texas; and four grandsons.
