   James Herbert Oren
   ERICK, Okla. - James Herbert Oren, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996.
   
   Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Erick United Methodist Church
   with the Rev. Marilynn Schellhamer officiating. Burial will be in
   Erick Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Service.
   
   Mr. Oren was born southwest of Erick. He attended Dabney School, Erick
   High School and Oklahoma A&M College. He married Lorene Stone in 1937.
   They had lived near Big Brushy Creek, southwest of Erick. He enjoyed
   ranching and farming. He farmed on his ranch and in partnership with
   his father on the Oren family farm. He retired in 1980 and moved to
   Erick. He was a Methodist.
   
   He was preceded in death by his wife.
   
   Survivors include three daughters, Ellen Moss of Amarillo and Barbara
   Oren and Mona Oren, both of Erick; five sons, John Oren of Arlington,
   Texas, and James Oren, Stone Oren, Charlie Oren and Kenneth Oren, all
   of Erick; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
   
   The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church at
   Erick.
