"Jim" Pickens, 81, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006. Services were at 1 p.m. Monday in Ryan Mortuary. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock, Texas. Mr. Pickens was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Sayre, Okla. He worked as a truck driver for J.T. Richardson, Tulsa Crude and Shamrock Concrete. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lando Pickens and Lillie Wood; his wife, Lorraine Pickens; a brother, J.R. King; and a sister ,Waunetia Honeycutt. Survivors include four daughters, Danielle Pickens of Salina, Carolyn Clarkson of Chester, Ill., Donna Jean Pickens of Wichita and Trisha Lee Long of Greenleaf; a brother, Gary Wood of Pampa, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
