   Edna Pond
   DUMAS - Edna Pond, 89, died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997.
   
   Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors
   Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist
   Church, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
   
   Mrs. Pond was born in Texola, Okla. She lived in Wheeler and then in
   Pampa from 1959 to 1983, when she moved to Dumas. She was a homemaker
   and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Pampa.
   
   She married George A. Pond in 1929 at Erick, Okla. He died in 1987.
   
   Survivors include a son, Charles Pond of Amarillo; two daughters,
   Fredia Ashby and Georgia Thomas, both of Dumas; a brother, Delbert
   Mitchell of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
   
   The family will be at 1302 N.E. 4th and 513 Belmont. They request
   memorials be to the activity fund at Memorial Nursing Home, 302 E.
   2nd, Dumas, Texas 79029.
   
   The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at the
   funeral home.
