Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in W.W. Rix Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gillum officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in Texola Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Floyd officiating. Mr. Potts was born July 1, 1918, in Texola, Okla., to Wallace and Nettie Potts. Sterlin married Viola Bass on Dec. 9, 1942, in Erick, Okla. He lived in Texola until 1973, where he farmed and then worked in the oil field. He moved to Dumas in 1973 and worked for Beren Oil Co. until his retirement in 1985. He had been a resident of Lubbock since 2000. Mr. Potts was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church and was a Baptist deacon. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Margie Pitcock and husband, Harylon, of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Deana Pitcock of Lubbock, Donna Pitcock of Abernathy and D'Aun Denton of San Antonio; and four great-grandchildren.
