Charles James Rankin
SHATTUCK, Okla. - Charles James "Jim" Rankin, 58, died Tuesday, 
Oct. 3, 2000, in Woodward.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Shattuck Memorial 
Cemetery with the Rev. Jess Willsie and the Rev. Kenny Platte 
officiating. Arrangements are by Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Mr. Rankin was born in Delhi. He trained race horses across the 
United States for Walter Merrick. In 1963, he lived in Amarillo 
and was a truck driver.

In 1980 he moved to Shattuck after living in northwest Oklahoma 
communities.

He married Charlene Winter in 1963 at Amarillo. He married Louise 
Cordell in 1975 at Wellington.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jackie Rankin of Amarillo; a 
daughter, Donna Kaye McCarty of Amarillo; two brothers, Bob 
Hodgson of Elgin and David Rankin of Sayre; two sisters, Jessie 
McKinse of Pampa, Texas, and Judy Schumm of Sayre; and two grand-
children.

The family suggests memorials be to Jim Rankin Memorial Fund in 
care of the Good Samaritan Funeral Service.
