All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Johnny L. Stewart Johnny L. Stewart, 76, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, May 5, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Christian Heritage Church with Pastor Gary Burd of the church, and Pastors Bobby Stewart and Damon Burrows, family members, officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery in Hammon, Okla., by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Stewart was born in Lavon. He moved to Amarillo in 1957 from Hammon. He was a production technician at Pantex before retiring in 1986. He served with the Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of Christian Heritage Church and the Amarillo Chapter of the American Legion. Mr. Stewart married Neva Blount in 1946 at Hammon. He was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Lowry Stewart, in 1946. Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel Stewart of Amarillo; two daughters, Linda Griffin of Amarillo and Kitty Milner of Virginia Beach, Va.; four sisters, Allie Smith of Elk City, Okla., Clellya Schroer of Seymour, Ind., Dessie Webb of Strong City, Okla., and Cleo Trobough of Hammon; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The family requests memorials be to Christian Heritage Church, 900 S. Nelson, Amarillo, Texas.
