All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Joe Tarver WELLINGTON - Joe Tarver, 72, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Ulrey, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Perryton, and the Rev. Brian Adams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Tarver was born in Thalia. He moved to Collingsworth County at a young age. He attended school at Estelline. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Virginia White in 1954 at the Kelly community. Mr. Tarver was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and First United Methodist Church. He also was active with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program. He was preceded in death by a son, Shane Tarver, in 1990. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sallie Tarver of Amarillo; a son, Scott Tarver of Wellington; three sisters, Thelma Able of Amarillo, Vida Jean Tarver of Abilene and Wilma Gibbs of Wellington; a brother, Ocie Tarver of Elk City, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
