 Pete Vera Sr.

   SPEARMAN - Pete Vera Sr., 72, died Friday, July 25, 2003.

   Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with
   the Rev. Guillermo Morales officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m.
   Monday in Westlawn Cemetery, Borger. Arrangements are by Boxwell
   Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

   Mr. Vera was born in 1931 in Benavides. He lived in Spearman since
   1959. He married Toni Ramirez on Nov. 24, 1951. She died in 1998. He
   married Guadalupe Munoz on June 19, 2000.

   Mr. Vera was a farmer and rancher and retired in 2001. He was a member
   of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

   Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Isabell McLeod of Fritch,
   and Elvira Hill of Amarillo; four sons, Pete Vera Jr., Johnny Vera and
   Reuben Vera, all of Spearman, and Will Vera of Elk City, Okla.; four
   brothers, Gilbert Vera, Salvador Vera and Jesse Vera, all of Alice,
   and Raymond Vera of Corpus Christi; four sisters, Hermelinda Garcia
   and Juanita Lopez, both of Alice, Maria Barnett of Corpus Christi, and
   Bertha Soliz of Houston; 10 grandchildren; and two
   great-grandchildren.

   The family suggests memorials be to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Box
   127, Spearman, TX, 79081, or Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland, Spearman,
   TX, 79081.
