Wells II, 33, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996. Private memorial services were Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the All Veterans Burial and Crematorium with Chris Jones, chaplain, officiating. The body was cremated. Mr. Wells was born in Cozad, Neb. His early years were spent in Cozad, Kearney, Neb., and Clovis, N.M. He went to junior high and high school in Burlington, Colo., Fort Collins, Colo., and Denver. After graduating from Rocky Mountain High School in 1981, he studied accounting and computers. He joined the Air Force and was based in California. He received the Air Force training ribbon and was recognized as an outstanding member of the U.S. Air Force Drill Team Squad. While in the service, he worked as a non-destructive inspection specialist, determining the structural safety of various aircraft. After receiving an honorable discharge, he moved to Amarillo and was general manager and accountant at a local retail store. He volunteered for the Boys Scouts of America, Respite Care and Colorado AIDS Project. Survivors include his mother, Beverly Wells-Jensen of Northglenn; four sisters, Victoria Wells of Westminster, Rhonda Wells of Elk City, Okla., and Rochelle Wells and Valerie Wells-Baker, both of Fort Collins; and two stepsisters, Cathy Jensen of Middleboro, Mass., and Sharon Jensen-Leonard of Amarillo. The family requests memorials be to the Robert E. Wells II Memorial Fund, c/o Victoria Wells, 860 W. 132nd Ave., No. 4, Westminster, Colo. 80234.
