All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Goldie Juanita Winn Goldie Juanita Winn, 82, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in South Georgia Baptist Church with Bob Miller, Robert Fields and Frank Rippetoe, pastors, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Fair Lawn Cemetery in Elk City, Okla., with Bob Miller and Roy Lynn Dewees, pastors, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Goldie was born March 11, 1924, in Spring Creek, Okla., to Warlo and Lora Dewees. She graduated from Ocina High School and soon after went to work for the J.C. Penney Co., where she was employed for 32 years. Goldie married William Doyle Winn on July 4, 1953, in Elk City. They resided in Elk City before moving to Amarillo in 1974. Mrs. Winn was a wonderful wife, a precious mother and a loving "Granny." She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Bobbie Smith and Frankie Rippetoe. Survivors include her husband, Doyle Winn; a brother, Charles Dewees; a daughter and son-in-law, Glendie and Delbert Farrar; grandchildren and their spouses, Rod and Deb Farrar of Albuquerque, N.M., and Rory and Julie Farrar, Ronica Farrar, Kerri Clemens, Roth Farrar and Ronde Farrar, all of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren, Seth, Ally, Riley and Caleb Farrar; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and family. The family suggests memorials be to Hospice of the Southwest, 1500 Coulter St., Suite 3, Amarillo, TX 79106 or South Georgia Baptist Church building fund, 5209 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX 79110. The family will be in the fellowship hall at 9 a.m. prior to the service for visitation.
