All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Charles "Son" Wiseman VEGA -- Charles "Son" Wiseman, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Vega United Methodist Church with Jim Watkins, Bill Russell and Steve Cox officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Vega by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Vega. Mr. Wiseman was born March 21, 1925, and farmed in Oldham County for more than 50 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a 50-plus year member of the American Legion, charter member of the Oldham County Round Up Committee, president of the Oldham County Cemetery Association and a Veterans Service Officer. He was a member of Vega United Methodist Church. He was a joy to have in our lives and will be missed. God bless. Son was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Marie Durham, and two sisters, Veta Russell and Ann Krahn. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Liles-Wiseman; two sons, Rusty Wiseman of Vega and Mike Wiseman and wife, Yvonne, of Southhaven, Miss.; a daughter, Cathy Howard of Canyon; three stepchildren, Phillip Liles of Logan, N.M., Russell Liles of Albuquerque, N.M., and Vickie Liles of Hedley; three sisters, Jane Everett of Prichett, Colo., Barbara Ballard of Baton Rouge, La., and Vicky Goucher of Elk City, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Memorial Park Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 496, Vega, TX 79092, or a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 24, 2004
