All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ LaUna Mae Woods LaUna Mae Woods, 84, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick of First Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Woods was born in Erick, Okla., on April 5, 1920, to Ira and Jewel Cornelison. She graduated from Sayre High School in Sayre, Okla., and married Harley G. Woods in 1938. Mrs. Woods was in banking in Amarillo before moving to Long Beach, Calif., in 1957. She retired from McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in 1985 and moved back to Amarillo. She was a Christian. "Mimmy" loved her family and friends very much, and everyone misses her deeply. Special thanks to everyone on the eighth floor of BSA Hospital and Dr. James Bryan who worked to make Mrs. Woods comfortable. Mother A mother's love is sometimes best for reasons I can't explain. She always knows when I hurt and how to ease the pain. Sometimes I take her for granted, because she has been there for so many years. But when I need someone to love, she's there to dry my tears. Gene, August 1974. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ira Gene Cornelison; and a very special friend, Boyd Bibb. Survivors include a son, Gene L. Woods of Amarillo; a brother, El Dean Cornelison and wife, Margie, of Hemet, Calif.; a grandson, Michael and wife, Jennie, of Amarillo; and three great-granddaughters, Brandy of Conroe and Rose and Mika, both of Amarillo.
