Lakey Agnes T. Lakey Agnes T. Lakey, 83, of Amarillo died Monday, July 8, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in San Jacinto Assembly of God Church with Melvin Suttle of the church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Tom Lakey and Larry Lakey, both of First Assembly of God Church in Lubbock, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Lakey was active in the Women's Group at San Jacinto Assembly of God and many senior groups. She enjoyed writing poems and giving them as gifts to family and friends. She was a nurse and took care of Tom Pickens in his home until he passed away in 1988. She married Wesley Lakey on Oct. 3, 1939, in Erick, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965. Survivors include a son, Don Lakey and wife, Shauna, of Amarillo; and three grandchildren, Kinsey Lakey, Tanner Lakey and Shaun Lakey. The family suggests memorials be to Cornerstone Outreach.
