The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** *Note* JACKSON,Mary Eleen (CADER) b. unknown d.June 19,1927 buried Carter Cemetery *Carter, Beckham county Ok., m.Albert R.JACKSON ************************************************************ *Mrs.Mary Ellen (Cader)JACKSON,wife of Mr.A.R.JACKSON ,died at her home here in Carter on Sunday afternoon,June 19,1927.Mrs.JACKSON had been in poor health for some time and everything that could be done for her gave her only temporary relief,and although she was cared for tenderly by loved ones and friends,she continued to grow worse till her family realized that nothing could be done to stay the disease.Mrs.JACKSON was one of the pioneer residents of Carter,her husband having been connected with the first store opened up in the town.She was well known and had many friends among the people all over this part of the country who are deeply grieved because of her death.She was a devoted wife,a loving mother and a true friend and neighbor,ever ready to do what she thought was right and to lend a helping hand.She loved her home and loved to do the many things in the home for the comfort and pleasure of her family and she continued to do those as long as she was able and until the end her thought were for the welfare of her family.Mrs.JACKSON leaves her husband,A.R.JACKSON,two daughters,Mrs.Moodie ROGERS and Miss LaVera JACKSON,a little grandson,Wayne R.ROGERS,all of Carter,and one sister who is living in Texas.The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon,where a large crowd was present to pay their respects to their friend.The funeral services were conducted by Rev.T.J.MELTON,pastor of the church,who paid a beautiful tribute to the life of the deceased.Mrs.JACKSON had been a member of the Methodist Church here for several years.Interment was made in the Carter Cemetery,the funeral arrangements being in charge of the Gentry-Killough funeral home of Carter *24 June 1927 The Carter Express*
