"JACK" (28 Nov 1912, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): "Uncle Jack" Jones, an old and highly respected citizen of near Ural died at the Elk City Hospital, Saturday and was buried Sunday at the Ural cemetery. Funeral services were held at the grave conducted by Elder Parden, a Primitive Baptist minister. Mr. Jones was taken to the hospital a week ago suffering with a gravel. An operation was performed which seemed to be successful and the patient was getting along nicely for one of his age. Saturday, he was taken with a severe attack of coughing which resulted fatally, heart failure being the direct cause of his death. He came to this country fourteen years ago and filed on the land which he lived up to the time of his death. He leaves two sons, Clem and Charles who live in the same community, two daughters, Mrs. Tom Proctor and Miss Lizzie with whom he lived.
