Laney were held Saturday December 7, 1963 in Martin Chapel in Elk City. He passed away Wednesday December 4, 1963 after being in the hospital one week, with a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Iva, of Elk City, one daughter, Della Mae Orr of Higgins, Texas and one son, Leroy Laney of Santa Susanna, California; four grandchildren, Jimmie Fitzgerald of Canadian, Texas and Mrs. Pat Tufti, Mrs. Kathleen Iverson and Mike Laney of Santa Susanna, California; and three great grandchildren; two sister, Mrs. Roxie Sanford of Reydon and Mrs. Charley White of Dumas, Texas; three brothers Elry Laney of Cheyenne, Sam Laney of Lockhart, Texas and Elvah Laney of Elk City; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mr Laney moved to near old Hamburg in Roger Mills county with his father, David H. Laney in 1895. He moved to Elk City in 1945 where he was engaged in the real estate business.
