Copying of the files within by non-commercial individuals and libraries is encouraged. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- French Morgan - Dec 18, 1901 - May 5, 1976 Early Day Resident French Morgan Final Rites Held Beckham County Democrat Thursday, May 13, 1976 Funeral services for Mr. French Morgan were held here in the Fatheree-Albert Chapel on Saturday, May 8, 1976, at 10:30 a.m. Officiating for the service was Rev. Walter Knox. Mr Morgan died at his home on Wednesday, May 5, 1976. Born Dec. 18, 1901, at Greenville, Texas, to John B. and Francis Elizabeth Rouse Morgan, he had been a Beckham County resident since 1904. He was married to Rebecca Mae Bassett on Nov. 17, 1928, at Wheeler, Texas. Following their marriage they made their home in Erick. He was a farmer, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, of the home; five sons, H.D. of Temple, Okla., Eddie L. of Midwest City, Okla., J.B. of Dell City, Okla., Earl F. of Granite, Okla., and Robert A. of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Winnie Davis of Palo Alto, Calif., and Minnie Crane of Belmont, Calif.; one brother, Roy Morgan, of Albuquerque, N.M.; 17 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Pall bearers were Mark Morgan, Nelson Morgan, David Morgan, Scott Morgan, Gary Monroe, and Bobby Bruner. Burial was in the Erick Cemetery under the direction of the Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home.
