In 1870 she was united in marriage to L.C.MARTIN in Benton County,Arkansas.Six children blessed this relationship,five of whom died in infancy. After living in Texas fifteen years they moved to a farm near Doxey,Oklahoma,where Mr.MARTIN passed away,December 28,1920 Mrs.MARTIN accepted Christ in life at the age of 14,later affiliating with the Baptist Church of which she was a member for 72 years. A sixth child,Dora,lived to the age of 22 when she passed away leaving a grand-daughter,Anne,whom Mrs.MARTIN reared and educated.Several other children have been reared,or partially,reared,by Ms.MARTIN.She so shed her mothering influence to children of the family and friends that she was lovingly known as Aunt Susan by everyone. Since December 10,1937,she has been confined to her bed by serious illness from which she was divinely released May 10,1938 at 7:15 p.m. She left no immediate family,save one grand-daughter,Mrs.D.M.RICHIE,Phoenix,Arizona and one brother,J.W.TINDELL,Boise City,Idaho,Three neices,seven nephews,three great grandchildren also await her here. ****** Services for Mrs.Susan Ann MARTIN,88-year-old Say re resident,were conducted in the parlor chapel of the LITTRELL-SCROGGINS funeral home at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev.Joe Kieth BLACKWELL Baptist minister assisted by Rev.Forrest WYMAN,Sayre Christian pastor officiating. Mrs. MARTIN,ill five months succumbed at her home on North Sixth street at 7:15 o'clock Tuesday night.For 12 years a county resident,Mrs.MARTIN moved to Sayre five months ago. She was born March 8,1850 in Missouri. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for 72 years. Her husband and six children preceded her in death. Survivors are a brother,J.W.TINDELL,Boise City,Idaho,and four nieces ,Mrs.R.M.RICHIE Phoenix,Ariz;Mrs.Joe Kieth Blackwell,and Mrs. Calvin JONES and Mrs.W.G.RENFRO,both of Sayre. Interment was made in the Carter cemetery.
