JOHN M'ATEE DIED HERE SATURDAY * 17 August 1933 Carter Express

Mr.John McATEE passed away at the home of his son,W.H.McATEE,here last
Saturday after an illness of two weeks.He was 77 years of age at the time
of his death.

Mr.McATEE moved to Iowa Park,Texas,forty years ago,and from there to
Duke,Oklahoma,until seven years ago when he came to Carter where he lived
until the time of his death.He leaves to mourn his passing two sons,
H.H. McATEE,of Modista,California,and W.H.McATEE of this city and other
relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at the
Methodist Church with Rev.Perry ROPER reading the last rites.Interment
was made in the Carter cemetery with KILLOUGH-HULLUM funeral directors in
charge.
