The many Carter friend: of Mrs.J.S.McCOLUM were sadly grieved to hear of
her death which occured at her home at Elk City on Thursday of last
week,following a severe illness of about two weeks.

Mrs.McCOLUM had been in bad health for some time but as her condition was
not considered serious,her death came as quite a shock both to her family
and friends.

Mrs.McCOLUM and family had many friends here having lived northwest of
Carter for several years before moving to Elk City.

The remains were brought to the Carter cemetery where interment was made
on Friday afternoon..
