The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Jimmie Wayne Merrick was born June 16, 1993 on the Davis Ranch near Texola, Oklahoma to Tien and Walter Merrick and passed away January 2, 1994 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 16 days. Jim graduated from Crawford High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He has always worked on the Merrick ranches where he has lived in South Dakota, Kansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He later moved to Rgoer Mills County and later to Sayre in 1991 to be near his family due to his ill health. He was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Sayre. He was preceded in death by one nephew. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Gail Perry of Tyler, TX and Lana Gwynn Hemsted of Cheyenne, OK; his parents, Walter and Tien Merrick, of Sayre, OK; two sisters and brothers in law, Lynnie and Buddy Suthers, of Sayre, OK, Donna and Bob Moss of Crawford, and Joe and Sherry Merrick of Sayre, OK; a special friend, Darla Harrelson of Sayre, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Services were 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 1994 at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Andy Taylor and assisted by A.L. Martin. Interment was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service, Sayre.
