(16 Dec 1920, Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Roger Mills Co, OK): Tread softly, bow the head in reverent silence bow to the memory of John A. Myers who departed this life December 11, 1920. Born Feb. 7, 1853 in Avoca, Wis., the deceased went when young to Iowa, here he married and to this union were born two children. After the death of his first wife he moved to Nebraska where he married Miss Eva Mullins. To this marriage were born eleven children. Mr. Myers came in an early day to Roger Mills County where against the adversity of all poor farmers, he kept a home and provided for his large family and kept his good name unsullied by any dishonest or dishonorable deed. When the end came his good wife and twelve children with many of his neighbors watched the going out of a life well spent. Only one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Stuart of Pueblo, Colorado, was absent. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Rankin cemetery on Dec. 12, 1920 (White Rose Cemetery, Roger Mills County). To Mrs. Myers and her children the entire community extends its heartfelt sympathy. A. Neighbor. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
