Furneral serv- ices will be held at 2:30 p. m. on Sunday in the First Christian church here with E. Oran Coble of- ficiating. Mrs. Oaks was born June 21, 1993 in Coryeall county, Texas. She had been ill since last December. On February 10, 1907, she was married in Elk City to C. A. Oaks, who survives her. They lived four miles east of Elk City until 30 years ago when they moved to Cutser county. Besides her husband, she is sur- vived by the following children: Loyd Oaks and Clarence Elmer Oaks, all of Canute; and Mrs. Thel- ma Phillips of Demver, Colo. A sis- ter, Mrs. Cy Howenstein of Arapaho, a nephew which Mrs. Oaks had reared, Cy Stanfield of Washington, D. C., and two grandchildren also survive. Burial will be in Fairlawn ceme- tery with Martin-Hullum funeral home making arrangements. Elk City Daily 9 Feb 1947 I have typed the obits as they appeared in the newspaper - typos and all!
