OK - Thomas William Parker Submitted by Rosa Quinton Thomas William Parker Obituary Thomas William Parker was born in Nashville, Arkansas, May 23rd 1847, and died in Elk City, OKla., September 11th,at 10:30 a.m. aged 77 years, 3 months and 18 days. He moved to San Saba county,Texas when he was 18 years old, and lived there and in other parts of Texas, until 1895, when he came to Oklahoma, moving to Saddler Creek in old Roger Mills County, where he filed on a claim, living there until 17 years ago, when he moved to Winkler County, Texas, living there four years, since which time he has been making his home with his children. Four years ago he came to Elk City and made his home with his daughter, Mrs. J. T. Simpson. Since 1897 Mr. Parker lived a devoted christian and was a faithful member of the Baptist Church. He leaaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss. The children are: H. B. Parker, Flomot, Texas, Ike Parker, Abilene, Texas, F. L. Parker, Electra, Texas, and Mrs. Barbara Simpson, Elk City, Okla. Funeral services were held at the Fairlawn cemmetery on Friday afternoon, Rev. L. N. Cordle, officiating. For scripture lesson he read the 19th and 20th Psalms and took for his text the Amos 4th chapter and 12th verse. Sympathy is extended to the aged wife and children in the loss of a faithful husband and loving father.
