Booth, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Fairview Baptist church in Elk City with the Rev. Jess Rowley officiating. Mr. Parker was born August 21, 1905 in Cheyenne and died August 18, 1962, after an illness of two weeks. He had lived in Oklahoma all his life. He moved to Elk City in 1945. Married July 29, 1929, to Dona Leona Smith at Sayre. Mr. Parker worked as a carpenter in the Cheyenne and Reydon communities prior to coming to Elk City. He is survived by his widow of the home, three daughters, Barbara and Betty of the home, and Mrs. Lovesta Jean Ray of Liberal, Kansasa; four sons, Earl Don of the home, James Francis (Buster) Parker of Elk City, William Dal of Amarillo, Texas; and Carl Dean of Liberal, Kansas; and his mother, Mrs. Emma Peters of Cheyenne. Also, two sisters, Mrs. Opal Meeks of Westminister, California, and Mrs. Lois Miller of Reydon; one brother, E.E. Parker,of Portales, New Mexico; and eight grandchildren. Burial was at Fairlawn cemetery in Elk City.
