PHELPS, J. GORDON
(9 Mar 1911, Thursday, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
Death of J. G. Phelps
J. G. Phelps, brother to Mrs. L. G. Staples, of Sayre, died of pneumonia
at Amarillo, Tex., Saturday, March 4, after an illness of but five or six
days.  The deceased was employed as a fireman on the Chicago, Rock Island
and Pacific and lived at Sayre.  The remains, accompanied by Mr. L. G.
Staples, were taken to Roanoake, Ala., for burial.

Through your columns we desire to express our deepest gratitude to those
good people in Sayre and Amarillo who showed so much kindness to our son
and brother, Gordon Phelps, upon the occasion of his illness and death. 
The many expressions of appreciation for our departed loved one and of
sympathy for us has deeply touched our hearts.  Many of these good friends
we may never hope to see in person, but we beg each one to accept this
feeble token of our love and gratitude.  Most sincerely,
