W.O. Phelps, proprietor of the Phelps Garage died at his home in the 
city Wednesday night about 11 o'clock.  Mr. Phelps took ill about a 
week ago with pneumonia.  His condition was not though unusually 
serious until Tuesday night when he took a turn for the worse.  Drs. 
Standifer and Tisdal of Elk City were called in consultation and it 
was announced Wednesday morning that he could not last more than 
twenty-four hours.

Mr. Phelps came to Cheyenne about two years ago and during that time 
conducted himself in such a way as to win the respect and confidence 
of everyone who had the pleasure to know him.

A message from his mother received yesterday stated that she and a 
brother had left San Francisco at 10 a.m. to come to his bedside.  
They are expected to arrive some time Thursday night.

Funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church after his 
mother and brother arrive.  Interment will be in a cemetery north of 
Elk City where his father is buried.

Mr. Phelps leaves a wife and baby girl about four years old to mourn 
his untimely demise.
