(24 Mar 1953, Tuesday, Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): H. C. Rice Rites To Be Wednesday At Church of God Funeral services for H. C. Rice, 76 year old retired farmer, who died Saturday at his home, 414 North Washington, will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of God with Rev. Claude E. White officiating. Mr. Rice was born Jan. 3, 1877, in Winchester, Ky., and was married Jan. 7, 1897, in Sunset, Texas to Miss Mary Emma Neece. They moved to a farm 2 miles south of Elk City in 1923 from Montague county, Texas, and moved into the city in 1946. He was a member of the Church of God. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Inez Agee, Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. Velma Littrell, San Pablo, Calif., and Mrs. Vivian Maxey, Boise City; five sons, J. L. Rice, Elk City, L. W. Rice, Elkhart, Kan., Rev. Hillery C. Rice, South Charleston, W. Va., Rev. Eugene V. Rice, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Rev. Hershell D. Rice, Ashland, Ky.; three brothers, Alvin Rice and E. C. Rice, both of Ft. Worth, Texas, and John Rice of Bell, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Fronnie Gladden, Mrs. Ella Bell, Mrs. Pearl Evans and seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
