Charles Rogers,Erick city marshall and veteran Beckham county peace officer, died Thursday night at Erick, according to word received here. He had been ill with intestinal influenza for several days and his condition became critical this week. He had been in ill health for some time prior to his illness. Mr. Rogers was widely known in this section as a peace officer and had been a resident of Erick for many years. He is survived by his widow, who is critically ill at this time, one daughter, and three sons. The daughter is Mrs. Bede Cowans. The sons are Herbert Rogers, also of Oklahoma city, and Lee Rogers of Erick. He also is survived by his father, Henry W. Rogers, of Erick, and six sisters. The sisters surviving include Mrs. Maude Robinson, Dalhart, Texas; Mrs Lola Lovejoy, Corpus Christi, Texas; Mrs. Lillie Doughty, Martha, Oklahoma; Mrs. H.B. Hackett, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Virgil Hardin, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. D.V. Callahan, of Ardmore, Oklahoma.
