Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Spring Creek cemetery, the services being conducted by Rev. J. L. Davis, of this city, and largely attended by neighbors and friends of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Batchelor are well known residents of this section of Beckham county, and to them goes the sympathy of the all their acquaintances. (29 April 1921, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK): DIED. Nesbitt T. Batchlear was born April 7th, 1906 and died April 22nd, 1921. He leaves a father and mother, sisters and brothers to mourn his loss. The loss that is sad to them is his gain. Weep not loved ones God knew best. While in Sayre visiting friends he was stricken with appendicitis. After his operation and awful suffering he lived a day or so then peacefully passed away Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Batchlear, Nesbitts' parents, lived several miles southwest of Carter. Nesbitt lived a pure and upright life with kindness to all. All was done that loving hearts and willing hands could do to prolong his life but all too soon the icy hand of death was laid upon his brow and his spirit returned to the God who gave it. After placing the beautiful flowers prepared by his friends we left him with a sad farewell. Nesbitt is gone. Oh! how we miss him.
