Funeral services for Viola Broddrick will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday from the First Baptist Church of Sayre with Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Sayre. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday until service time. Viola Effie Broddrick was born May 9, 1908, at Doxey, to William Atley and Annie Delila (Hix) Stalins and died Friday at the age of 89. Viola graduated from Merritt High School and was married to William P. "Bill" Broddrick on December 22, 1929 at Carter. William preceded her in death in November of 1969. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sayre. Survivors include two sons, Layton Broddrick of Sayre and Glen Broddrick of Austin; one daughter Dee Clark of Ardmore; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, one sister, Vergel Campbell of Florida; two brothers, Dee Stalins of California and Ray Stalins of Nevada.
