(28 May 1925, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Died at his home in this city, May 23rd, 1925, Charles L. Burch, age 68 years, 7 months and 5 days. He was born October 18th 1858. Married December 15th 1893. To this union were born five children: Roy of Sayre, Ivan of Colorado Springs, Floy Evlyn of Oklahoma City, Kermit of Oklahoma City and Vernon of Sayre. Two children by a former marriage are Claude Burch of Burnett, Texas and Mrs. Suttles of Waco, Texas. Another name is stricken from the ever lessening roll of our old settlers. He settled in an early day in Texas and was a frontiersman and cattle man, and resided for a great number of years in Clay county, Texas. To man, woman or child, saint or sinner, he always extended a cordial greeting that lent a ray of light to brighten their pathway in the journey of life. He commanded the respect of all people, as the attendance of his funeral fully verified. Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church, conducted by Dr. W. S. Deatherage, after which interment was made in the Doxey-Sayre cemetery. CARD OF THANKS. We wish to thank our friends and neighbors for their many deeds of kindness, for the expression of love, and sympathy and for the beautiful floral offerings during the illness and death of our beloved husband and father.
