(23 Sep 1915, Thursday, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): William E. Burrow. The death of the above named respected citizen occurred at his home six miles northwest of Sayre at one o'clock Sunday morning. He had been in feeble health for some years but was thought to be improving until a few days before his death when he took cold which developed into pneumonia. He was born in Lamar County, Alabama, about sixty-five years ago. He left his native state early in life and went to Texas from which state he came to Oklahoma about fifteen years ago, coming to Beckham county some two years since. Mr. Burrow was married twice, having seven children by his first wife, all of whom are dead, and twelve by his second wife, of whom ten are living, several of whom lived near him. Some three months since his wife died very suddenly. Several of the children are yet young. He had been forty-nine years a member of the Baptist church, forty-three years an Odd Fellow and thirty-five years a Mason. He was buried Sunday afternoon at the Lone Oak cemetery, the services being conducted by Rev. J. E. Gwatkin and the Odd Fellows of the Liberty Hill lodge. There was an immense crowd present testifying his popularity in the community.
