Mrs. Mary Tindell Campbell, 112 West 12th Street, Snyder, formerly of Sayre, died Friday, June 13 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm in the First Christian Church. Officiating was Rev. Marion W. Nilsson. Born January 11, 1904, at Big Springs, Tex., Mrs. Campbell moved to Sayre with her parents when a small child and her mother died when she was nine. She assisted her father in rearing the children and attended the Doxey, Timber Creek, Sayre Public Schools. She married Calvin Jones who preceded her in death. She married Elmer C. Campbell at Tipton in 1966 and they moved to Snyder. He preceded her in death Dec 3, 1974. Mrs. Campbell formerly owned and operated the Globe Cleaners at Sayre six years. Charter member and past president of the Sorosis study club she was past president of Chapter DK of PEO. A member of the Sayre First Christian Church since 1925, she was past president of the Christian Women's Fellowship, served as Sunday School superintendent, taught Youth and Adult Sunday School classes and was a Church Youth Sponsor. Survivors are 1 son, Col. Roy Mac Jones of the USA, retired of Del Rio, Tex.; 2 daughters Barbara Sue White of Anaheim, Calif.; Lou Karen Selby of Oklahoma City; 1 sister Imogene Silcott of Pampa, Tex.; 4 grandchildren: Jo Lynn Jones of Del Rio, Tex., Shelly and Derek Nelson of Anaheim, Calif., Grant Bloodworth of Oklahoma City; 1 stepson Wesley Campbell of Flagstaff, Ariz.; 1 stepdaughter, Audra Thompson of Mt. Park. Interment was in the Sayre Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Scroggins and Son Funeral Chapel.
