CLEGHORN, LINDA A.
(28 May 1925, Thursday, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
Died at her home in our city, Sunday, May 24th, 1925, Mrs. Linda A.
Cleghorn, wife of W. H. Cleghorn.  She was the mother of a large family. 
She was born at Bridgeport, Wise County, Texas, May 8th, 1878.  Her
father, J. K. White, was an early pioneer minister of this city.
Mrs. Cleghorn met the disappointments and adversities of life with a true
Christian spirit.  She suffered long and was patient.  Early in life she
became a member of the Christian church.
She was a woman of strong Christian character, patient, loving and
self-sacrificing.
The funeral services were conducted at the First Christian church of this
city, Tuesday, May 26th, at 3:30 p.m.  Dr. W. S. Deatherage preached the
funeral sermon.
Interment was made at the Doxey-Sayre cemetery and attested was the high
regard in which she was held in our city when a mile of automobiles filled
with friends followed the hearse to the Silent City to pay their respects
to the departed Christian mother.

Mrs. W. H. Cleghorn of Sayre died at the family residence in west Sayre
Tuesday.  Funeral services were held Sunday and the remains were laid to
rest in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery, Tuesday.  Funeral services were held at
the Christian church Rev. Deatherage conducting the services.
