Clement, who with his family was a resident of Sayre for about a year is dead. The following account of his death is from the Salisbury (Mo) Press-Spectator. Mr. and Mrs. Clement have many friends here who join in sympathy with the bereaved ones. "William A. Clement, a prominent and highly respected citizen and business man, died very suddenly of heart failure at his home on East Third street, Monday night at 10 o'clock. He had just retired for the night and was speaking to his wife who was sitting on the side of the bed, Mrs. Clements attention was attracted by his gasping for breath. She hastened to his side and attempted to relieve him, as she had done on other occasions, but to no avail, the end had come, and his spirit had taken its flight. Mr. Clement was born near Santa Fe, Monroe county, Mo., December 5, 1853, and was united in marriage September 30, 1874, to Miss Kittie Stewart. One child, a daughter, Mrs. Thos. Vandeventer, was born to this union. At the age of 18 years, Mr. Clement was converted to Christ and united with the Christian Church under the preaching of J. A. Brooks. Funeral services were conducted at the family residence by Rev. G. H. Bassett pastor of the Christian church, after which his remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery with the Modern Woodmen honors. Besides a wife and daughter; two brothers and three sisters survive him. John Clement of Carrollton, and C. R. Clement of Excelsior Springs, Mrs. Geo. Sneed and son of Columbia, and R. H.
