DONNELL, DAVID BIRD
(20 Mar 1930, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
David Bird Donnell was born June 3, 1842, near Libanon, Tennessee.  He
departed from this life at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 7 days.  He
was converted in early life and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
 He was ruling elder in that church until he moved to Clarendon in 1902
where he joined the M. E. Church.
He was married to Mattie E. Hurst January 23, 1868 and to this union were
born two children, Andrew who died November 10, 1922, and Hattie of
Berlin, Oklahoma.  At the time of his death he was living with his
daughter Mrs. A. R. Harris.
He lived a Christian life in every department his faith was always strong.
 He often spoke of going to the other side in such a happy way and always
wanted his loved ones and friends to go with him.  He was the last son of
a family of eleven children.  One sister Mrs. J. J. Moore of Lewisvill
(sic), Texas is still living.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Clarendon, Texas,
Thursday afternoon March 13, 1930, at 2:00 o'clock.  Burial was in the
Clarendon cemetery.  Hullum Funeral directors in charge.
