(30 Oct 1930, Thursday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral services for Holland B. Evans, 34, who died suddenly at his home in Sayre Saturday night, were held at the Methodist Church in Sayre Monday morning October 27 at 10 o'clock with Rev. T. N. Weeks officiating. Evans had been feeling badly for two weeks prior to his death but was thought to have improved the day of his death. He left the Owl Drug Store where he was employed at 6:20 Saturday evening and went to his home. He is said to have been feeling well when he left the drug store. Later he was discovered by Mrs. Evans where he had fallen in an attempt to reach the bed. A physician was summoned but he was unable to do anything for Evans. His death was attributed to heart failure. Two years and one-half ago Evans moved to Sayre from Henrietta. He was an employe (sic) of the Jones-Pore Drug store in that city for 7 years before coming here. He was employed at the Owl Drug Store from the time he moved to the city until his death. He was a registered pharmacist for 17 years. Following the service in Sayre the family with Rev. and Mrs. T. N. Weeks left for Henrietta where a second service was held. The Littrell-Moore funeral car drove with the body to Henrietta. Burial was made in the Okmulgee cemetery with Littrell-Moore in charge of all funeral arrangements both here and in Okmulgee. Beside his widow, Evans is survived by his two children, a daughter, Panthea Mae, 12, and son, Holland B., Jr., ten and one sister, Miss Martha A. Evans of Okmulgee.
