All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ FANNING,VEDA EDNA (Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham, Ok, 11 Oct 1928) Mrs. Veda Edna Fanning, wife of Robert Fanning, died at the Musick Hospital, Elk City last Thursday afternoon. Veda was born January 14, 1912, died October 4, 1928, age 16 years 8 months and 20 days. She was married to Robert Fanning, April 2, 1926, and the happy young couple were residing on a farm 10 miles north west of this city at the time of her death. Her death was due to complication following an operation. Although her illness was short, her suffering was immense but she bore it all bravely and with a smile. Veda was of a pleasing disposition which gained her many friends. The best of care was given by the medical staff and loved ones but the Lord Saith 'This day thy soul shalt be required of thee' so she passed on into the great beyond where she is waiting the coming of her young husband, father and mother and other loved ones. The body was brought to the home of Mr and Mrs Elwood Fanning of this city and funeral services were conducted by the Medford Bros. at Lone Oak church at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon and the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Lone Oak cemetery. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, father and mother Mr and Mrs Pearl King northwest of city, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.
