GUTHRIE, JOHN B.
(25 Jan 1924, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
Died January 24th at Strong City, John B. Guthrie, age 66 years.  The
funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 A.M. in the Methodist Church. 
Rev. Grimes of Cheyenne officiating.  The remains were brought to the
Dempsey cemetery for interment.  The masons from Erick, Strong City and
Cheyenne taking charge of the burial ceremonies.  The deceased leaves a
wife, one daughter and three sons to mourn his departure.  Mr. Guthrie was
an old settler here and was loved and respected by every one.  Many
beautiful floral offerings were placed on his grave.  He is in a land
where flowers bloom fairer than these.
