(5 Aug 1920, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF ALENE HALL. Sorrow came to many Friday when the word went out that Miss Alene Hall was dead. She had been sick for some time, coming from the Weatherford Normal, suffering from typhoid fever. While recovering from that other complications arose and while everything possible was done for her the hand of death could not be stayed. She felt she had so much to live for. After years of hard work to secure an education she had come to the place where success was hers and she was able to take up her chosen work in a most successful manner. Alma Alene Hall was born in Pottawatomie County, Okla., Feb. 1, 1897, and died in Elk City July 30, 1920, aged 23 years, 6 months and 30 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hall, who for years were residents of near Berlin. She joined the Christian church and was baptised in 1914. She was a lovable young lady with a host of friends. Funeral services were held at Berlin Saturday, Rev. Bowles officiating. A large number were in attendance to show their last respects to one who had grown up in their neighborhood. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of all. ---------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
