All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ HAMBROOK, MARK (15 Sep 1930, Monday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Hip Was Broken In Fall Several Weeks Ago. Complications having set in as the result of a broken hip which was secured by a fall caused the death of Mark Hambrook, age 75, at the home of his son, Thomas Hambrook, at 12:35 P.M. Monday. The aged man fell off the front steps of his son's home several weeks ago breaking the hip bone and injuring the ligaments . In spite of every medical assistance the injury would not heal, it is said. Hambrook moved to Oklahoma from North Dakota 10 years ago and lived on a farm in the Grimes community until December 1923 when he went to live with his son Thomas of that place. The wife of the deceased died 18 years ago and he lived alone until he moved to his son's home. The deceased is survived by his two sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hambrook and Mr. and Mrs. James Hambrook and five grand children. Funeral services were held at the Grimes church at 11 A.M. Tuesday with Rev. Taylor of Sweetwater officiating.
