All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ HARTMAN, EDITH ISOBEL (12 Dec 1929, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Edith I. Hartman, who lived five miles north of Sayre, died in the Tisdal Hospital Tuesday at 9:50 o'clock as a result of ruptured appendix. Mrs. Hartman took suddenly ill at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Gray at Durham. She had gone there with her two small children for the Thanksgiving holidays. She took sick Saturday, November 30 and was rushed to Sayre for medical attention. It was found that her appendix had bursted and poisoning had spread through her entire body. She lived ten days after the operation. Mrs. Hartman was the wife of Johnnie Hartman. She had been married only three years. She was the mother of two small children, Dorothy Gene 2, and Johnnie Eugene, 6 months. Spring Creek had been the home of Mrs. Hartman for several years. She attended school at Spring Creek and Stratford. She united with the Belmont Baptist church more than five years ago and she had been a worker in the church since then. At the time of her death she was 21 years, 5 months and 17 days old. She was born June 23, 1908 and died December 10, 1929. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church of Sayre Wednesday afternoon December 11, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. R. F. Allison officiating. Interment was made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery.
