George W. Holden
The funeral of George W. Holden, who died at Norman, Okla., on Friday,
January 22, was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. John Brothers in
this city last Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. J. T. Means, pastor
of the Presbyterian church, officiating.  The deceased was born February
25, 1872.  Last summer, while working in the harvest fields in Kansas he
was overcome with the intense heat, since which time he has been under
medical treatment at the hospital until his death last Friday. He was
formerly a resident of Sayre and was well known to the older residents of
this city.  The deceased was a brother to Mrs. J. R. Richardson and Mrs.
Jno. Brothers, the funeral being held from the home of the latter.  The
remains were laid at rest at the Doxey-Sayre cemetery.
