All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* HORNE, HIRAM (28 Apr 1910, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Hiram Horn (sic), a farmer residing two miles east and one mile north of this city, died on Thursday afternoon last. Mr. Horn had been ill for a couple of weeks with a liver trouble, but considered on the high road to recovery. Thursday afternoon the nurse left the room to prepare his supper, and upon returning with it found him dead. Heart failure is assigned as the immediate cause of death, induced by his weakened condition consequent upon his illness. Mr. Horn was a single man, 39 year of age, and came to Oklahoma from Green county, Arkansas, to which point the body was shipped for interment. Mr. Horn was a member of the Masonic fraternity and the Modern Woodmen of America. (29 Apr 1910, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Hiram Horne died at the home of his sister, Mrs. R. A. Like, 3 miles northeast of this city, at noon Friday, April 22nd of heart failure. Deceased was a Free Mason, a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the I.O.O.F. A brother, Geo. W. Horne and a cousin, John W. Horne, of McLoud, Okla., arrived Saturday. After services at the home the body was escorted to Doxey, Okla., by friends and neighbors of Sayre Camp M.W.A. and taken to Gainsville, Ark., on the evening train accompanied by his brother. Deceased was a member in good standing with the M.W.A.'s at McCloud, Okla., and carried a Policy for $1000.00 payable to his mother. (29 Apr 1910, Sayre Citizen, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): John Horne of McCloud, Pottowatomie County, was a Sayre visitor last Saturday. Mr. Horne was called here by the death of his cousin, Hiram Horne, of Doxey. It was his first trip into this section of the state and he was so favorably impressed with the country and its citizenship that he expressed himself almost persuaded to cast his lot with the people of Beckham county. Died, at his home near Doxey, Thursday, April 21, of heart failure, Hiram Horne, aged 39 years. Deceased was a single man and was living with his sister, Mrs. R. A. Like. He was a member of the A.F.&A.M., I.O.O.F., and M.WA. fraternal organizations. The M.W.A. superintended the preparation of the body for shipment to the former home of the deceased at Gainesville, Arkansas, for interment. George W.
