HUGHES, JOHN DARREN
(10 May 1917, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
J. D. Hughes, father of R. G. Hughes of this city, died Sunday, May 6th,
at his home near Delhi after a prolonged illness of several months
duration.  The deceased was 74 years of age.  Funeral services were
conducted Monday afternoon by Rev. Wilson, and the remains were laid at
rest in the Delhi cemetery.  Mr. Hughes was an early settler of Beckham
county and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who held him in
the highest esteem.
(10 May 1917, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
J. E. (sic) Hughes of Delhi, an old gentleman of about 80 years of age,
died Sunday from a protracted illness.  He was burried (sic) at the Delhi
cemetery Monday afternoon by the Masonic fraturnity (sic) of which he is a
member.  Several masons from the Erick Lodge attended.
