(20 Sep 1906, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): A. B. Jamison died at his home near Grimes, Wednesday, September 19. He had not been well for some time and Wednesday night retired feeling about as well as usual and about midnight some of the family hearing him make an unusual noise, went to his bedside found him unconscious and he expired about five minutes later. He was an early settler and leaves beside his wife and children a host of friends who will be pained to hear of his sudden death. (21 Sep 1906, Friday, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): A. B. Jamison Dead. The sudden death of A. B. Jamisen (sic), who lived twelve miles northwest of Sayre, occurred Wednesday night at his home, of heart failure. He was about 60 years old. Mr. Jamison was the "Wayland" correspondent of the Standard, and his quaint humour was widely quoted and much enjoyed. He looked on the bright side of life, and his belief in God was genuine and sincere. We have lost a friend. May he rest in peace. Jamison was born in Boone county, Mo., Oct. 28, 1835 and died at his home 4 1/2 miles south of Grimes Sept. 19, 1906. He was married to Alice Landrum in Denton county, Texas in 1871. To them was borne six sons and five daughters. One son and one daughter deceased. Mr. Jamison was a good man, respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the Presbyterian church for about 50 years. His family have the sympathy of a host of friends in this sudden bereavement. He was around as usual on Wednesday and died suddenly on that night. The funeral service conducted by the writer and the burial took place at the cemetery near Jamison school house.
